Story told by Justine Thomas

"I have a problem", said Keira in a muffled voice from behind her hands. "What's wrong," asked Keira's mom.

Keira had a loose tooth. She didn't know why her favorite teeth had to leave her. All she wanted to do was keep her mouth closed and not eat or drink anything . . .EVER!

The tears began flowing down Keira's face with just one thought of her baby teeth leaving their nice, warm home.

"I don't want my teeth to fall out, mom," said Keira.

"I know it is a little scary. But, just think of the wonderful adventure your little tooth is going to have," said her mom as she rocked Keira gently.

"What adventure? My tooth is going to have an adventure," asked Keira with a little excitement as she still held her hands to her mouth.

"Sure! Can you imagine being looked at by the whole family, feeling so important," she said slowly rocking her.

"And I bet it would be really soft underneath my pillow," said Keira.

"Yes. Can you imagine being woke up by the twinkling lights and fairy dust, too," asked her mom.

"Wow, I didn't think of that. What do you think happens next," asked Keira as her tongue tickled the jumbling tooth.

"Well, I bet your little tooth would be excited to see other teeth. They would all be bundled up in the Tooth Fairy's special sack, all snug and tight, on their way to a magical land filled with fluffy pillows, tooth washing machines, and special little tooth beds," said Keira's mom as she squeezed her with a special hug.

"Tooth washing machines and tooth beds . . .I wonder what those are like," said Keira as she touched her wobbly tooth with her fingers.

"As soon as the little teeth arrive at the Tooth Fairy's magical land, they hop aboard a floating surf board and get a bubbling, cherry smelling warm shower. They just sparkle," said Keira's mom.

"I bet the little tooth beds have really soft blankets and fuzzy pillows," said Keira wiggling her tooth a little more.

"Every night, the Tooth Fairy reads all the little teeth bedtime stories," said her mom as she watched Keira really wiggling her loose tooth.

"Looks like someone is ready for their trip," said Keira as she held out her hand.

The little tooth twinkled proudly.
