Matt was looking for office help. He put a sign in the window that read:

HELP WANTED

MUST BE COMPUTER LITERATE

MUST BE BILINGUAL

WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER

Sometime later, a little brown dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign, pushed his way through the door and went inside. He trotted over to where Matt was seated behind a desk, sat, wagged his tail and said, “Woof.”

“Shoo,” said Matt. “This is a business office, not a pet shop.”

The little dog trotted over to the sign in the window, sat, wagged his tail and said, “Woof.” 

Matt laughed. “You know I can't hire you,” he said. “The sign says you have to be familiar with computers.”

The little dog ran across the room and leaped into a chair in front of a computer. “Woof,” he said, and pawed at the keyboard, entering Martin Luther King's I Have A Dream speech. He then hit Print, bit down on the paper, yanked it out, jumped off the chair, trotted over to Matt, sat, dropped the printout, wagged his tail and said, “Woof.”

Matt leaned over and picked up the paper. “Wow!” he said. “You're a smart little dog, aren't you?”

“Woof,” said the little dog, wagging his tail.

“Well,” said Matt, “I still can't give you the job. I mean, after all, you're a dog.”

The little dog stood up on his hind legs, resting his front paws on the desk. He stretched his little paw to a copy of the sign, placing his paw on the sentence that read WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER, and said, “Woof.”

Matt shook his head. “Yes,” he said, “I see what you mean. But the sign says that you also have to be bilingual.” 

The little brown dog wagged his tail and said, “Meow.”
